FCDC was established in 2016 as a non governmental organization (NGO) to facilitate the development of the frontier counties in Kenya.
The Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) is a regional economic bloc comprising the County Governments of Lamu, Tana River, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, Isiolo, Turkana, Samburu, and West Pokot.
Is a regional development initiative that focuses on the socio-economic growth and empowerment of the frontier or arid and semi-arid areas of Kenya. The organization primarily works in the counties of northeastern Kenya, which are characterized by environmental challenges, underdevelopment, and
historical neglect. FCDC aims to address the developmental gaps in these regions by coordinating government efforts, engaging local communities, and promoting sustainable economic activities.
FCDC was established in 2016 as a non governmental organization (NGO) to facilitate the development of the frontier counties in Kenya. Its main goal is to promote development in the counties that are typically marginalized or underdeveloped. The council seeks to improve the standard of living for the people in these counties through poverty alleviation programs, provision of basic services, infrastructure development, and environmental conservation.

The forum expanded it's memebership to ten counties and welcoming Samburu, Turkana and West Pokot
