FCDC Sector Forum for Youth ,Innovation and E-governance is a forum within the FCDC Secretariat that seeks to coordinate Youth and IT related issues between the National and our member County Governments and other stakeholders . The sector was formed in 2021 with a view to create a coordination unit that serves as a gateway to youth and IT related functions for purposes of information sharing, resource mobilsation , joint advocacy that will eventually culminate into a collective impact on the sector.
Key achievements:
• Facilitated 40 IT graduates to join Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP)
• Created a data base for IT Students & graduates -35 recorded so far but they are more
• On-going assessment of E-readiness in 6 Secondary Schools in 3 pilot counties (Mandera, Wajir &Garissa) with an objective of reviving computer studies in Secondary Schools- NEP Girls, Garissa High School, Wajir Girls, Wajir High School, Moi Girls and Mandera.
Increasingly, IT issues have become an imperative across all sectors of the economy hence the need for a comprehensive digital strategy to enhance service delivery through digital transformation.
The rapid transformation brought by technology demands that every sector of the economy should adopt an innovative strategy for competitive advantage. FCDC region largely depends on the livestock sector which ought to develop strategies for innovative solutions that enhances the livestock value chain, promote e-learning ,produce a resilient and tech-savvy generation. This strategy will form the backbone of an innovative digital economy that will cushion the mainstay of the FCDC region from perennial shocks
