Under the Water , FCDC held the first workshop in Lamu in March 2020 followed by a 3-day rapid water-needs assessment in beneficiary counties. FCDC has also helped develop an FCDC Water Sector Master Plan with its own water governance structure.

In recent years, FCDC formed a Technical Working Group drawn from the National and County government with the aid of development partners aimed at coming up with MoU for Cooperation, FCDC Blue Economy Resources Mapping, Multi-Agency Action Plan, and joint projects.

Moreover, FCDC held a Technical meeting in Nairobi for the development of a concept note for the establishment of the Sector Forum for Water & Blue Economy. This was closely followed by a Sector Forum Meeting with CECMs of Water in Nairobi on 26th January 2023 supported by Kenya Rapid + Project. Lastly, there has been the development of a Blue Economy Plan for FCDC and Concept Note supported by a multi-agency team headed by FCDC & Kenya Maritime authority and is still ongoing

FCDC SECTOR FORUM FOR WATER (SFOW)

 Key Achievements:

  • Held first workshop in March 2020
