SUMMARY:RPF County Training
DESCRIPTION:The Raspberry Pi Foundation\, a globally recognized leader in digital skills education\, has partnered with the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) to drive innovation\, technology access\, and digital literacy across Kenya’s frontier counties. This collaboration seeks to bridge the digital divide by empowering young people\, teachers\, and communities through the use of affordable Raspberry Pi computing devices\, practical training programs\, and localized educational resources. \nStarting in May 2025\, the program will begin an ambitious rollout of training sessions across all frontier counties\, with the initial launch in West Pokot. These trainings are designed to equip local educators\, youth leaders\, and community champions with the skills to integrate digital tools into education\, entrepreneurship\, and everyday problem-solving. The training sessions will be led by experienced facilitators in close coordination with the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s Kenya Country Director\, ensuring a high level of technical support\, mentorship\, and alignment with international best practices. \nThe program will cover areas such as basic computer science\, coding\, electronics\, and the use of Raspberry Pi for practical community projects. By introducing technology in a hands-on\, accessible way\, the initiative aims to nurture a new generation of innovators\, create pathways to employment\, and support FCDC’s broader mission of fostering resilient\, self-reliant\, and digitally inclusive communities in Kenya’s frontier regions. \nThrough this partnership\, the Raspberry Pi Foundation and FCDC are not only enhancing educational outcomes but are also laying the groundwork for long-term economic development\, social inclusion\, and technological empowerment across some of the most historically underserved areas of the country.
